FREESTYLE LIBRE 2 GLUCOSE MONITOR

The Freestyle Libre 2 Sensor is a compact sensor-based system that offers continuous glucose monitoring for up to 14 days and nights, now equipped with low and high glucose alarms. With Bluetooth connectivity, the Libre 2 sensor can notify users with either a sound or vibration if their Blood Glucose levels are outside of the desired range in real-time, without requiring manual scanning. This alert prompts users to scan their sensor with a reader to view their current Blood Glucose measurement and make any necessary adjustments. Users have the flexibility to customize and opt in/out of these alerts as needed.Both the original FreeStyle Libre and the Freestyle Libre 2 sensors are intended to be scanned using a compatible reader and/or application. The original FreeStyle Libre can be scanned using the "FreeStyle LibreLink" app, while the Libre 2 utilizes the "FreeStyle Libre 2" app for scanning the sensor and accessing blood glucose data. The easy-to-apply Libre 2 sensors are approximately the size of two stacked quarters and can be conveniently worn on the back of the upper arm for up to 14 days, measuring blood glucose levels every minute.Upon scanning the Freestyle Libre 2 sensor, the reader provides glucose readings from the previous 8 hours, making use of flash technology. The Libre 2 sensor has a quick 1-hour warm-up time and does not require any calibrations. It is recommended to use the sensor in conjunction with the Freestyle Libre 2 Reader and/or mobile applications as instructed by a healthcare provider.
