Place the eartips in your ears, angled slightly forward for a comfortable, secure fit. Position the chestpiece (diaphragm or bell) on the patient’s body at the desired location. Use the tunable diaphragm by applying light pressure to hear low-frequency sounds and firm pressure to hear high-frequency sounds. Switch between the adult and pediatric sides of the chestpiece as needed (the pediatric side can also convert to an open bell by replacing the diaphragm with a non-chill rim). After use, clean the diaphragm and tubing with a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe or mild soapy water. Avoid immersing in liquid or using strong solvents. Store the stethoscope in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
