Seretide Diskus 500 mcg is a combination inhalation powder containing 50 mcg salmeterol (a long-acting beta-agonist) and 500 mcg fluticasone propionate (a corticosteroid). It's used for the regular treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients requiring continuous bronchodilator therapy.
Preparation: Hold the Diskus inhaler in a level, flat position. Open the inhaler by sliding the thumb grip away from you until you hear a click. Hold the Diskus with the mouthpiece facing you. Slide the lever away from you as far as it will go to load the dose. Inhalation: Exhale fully away from the inhaler. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and inhale deeply and forcefully through your mouth. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then exhale slowly. After Use: Close the Diskus by sliding the thumb grip back towards you until it clicks shut. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to reduce the risk of oral thrush.

Contraindications: Not for the relief of acute bronchospasm or sudden breathing problems. Pregnancy and Lactation: Consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Side Effects: Possible side effects include oral thrush, hoarseness, throat irritation, headache, and muscle cramps.
